My final second year project was centred around retail design, with a particular focus on branding.

As part of the project I was required to explore how branding has an effect on design, including concept, operation, layout and overall scheme. The brand I was assigned was Dyson, focusing mainly on their new hair dryer product.

END Clothing in Newcastle upon Tyne was the original site, in which I chose to create the Dyson Demo Store. As Dyson are creators of highly innovative products, with science and engineering at the heart of the design, I aimed to give the interior a highly technical scheme and a well-considered layout that is easy to navigate. The different areas, including an exhibition, shop and hair salon, were split across three floors. Visitors are intended to feel as though they are stepping inside of Dyson technology as they enter the large cylindrical structure, that mimics the product design of the Supersonic hair dryer.
